Dr. Kate Winderman (She/Her)
A trusting relationship is the most powerful and effective tool a therapist can provide; this fact underlies my work with each and every client. I aim to help you engage in self-exploration and learn more about yourself and how you connect with the world around you. Whether this means processing the impact of relationships from the past or present, unpacking traumatic experiences, disentangling overwhelming emotions, unlocking patterns that are keeping you stuck, exploring pieces of your life or identity that are stigmatized by society, (yes, we can talk sex!) or simply wanting to make meaning in your life by deciding not to put your mental health on the back burner, I am here to help you create that space and start that journey.
I value creating a space for folks of all identities to process the very real impact of our sociopolitical climate.
I absolutely love my work and am truly honored to hold a safe space for my clients as they work to make meaningful change in their lives. I am energized by helping my clients engage in the work to connect with themselves authentically and start the path toward healing. I love collaborating with my clients as a team to tackle your goals head-on and carve out a space for you to just be you.
There’s a special place in my heart and training to work with folks presenting with our most core human experiences, such as grief and loss, relationship struggles, depression, life transitions, and self-exploration. In addition to these core experiences we all might face, there are also several areas of specialized support I can offer in our time together such as creating a welcoming environment for people who have experienced trauma of all kinds - from the little traumas that quietly impact our lives to the more acute kind.I I also work with folks who have anxieties of all shapes and sizes , including OCD and phobias.
The work I love extends to folks of all identities, addressing sexual concerns including desire issues, desire discrepancies, sexual and religious trauma, and sexual identity and exploration. I’m particularly passionate about providing a warm and empowering space for members of the queer community, as well as those who identify as members of the poly and/or kink communities.
