When therapists first start at MT, we’re told that our stories mirror our clientele. When we say we get it, it’s because we get it. We get the stress and efforts of making a relationship work, compounded by big vocational goals and demands, and then the added cherry of a fertility journey on top of our latest existential questions.
What motivates me as a therapist is seeing clients take that courageous step forward to reach out and talk to someone. I’m here to sit with you, hear your story, and witness as you find your power, deepen your self-trust, and feel more confident and free in the present.
It’s so often the case that we experience little hints or symptoms saying we should take some time to look inward, like muscle tension, worrying about the future, feeling unsettled, binge-ing a bit too much TV or drinking a little too much, etc. Life gives us a lot of opportunities to distract or deal in ways that are fleeting and don’t get to the root of what we actually need. What helped me the most in my own journey, was taking the time to pause for a 50-minute time out in my week to turn inward, detangle, and clarify what I was experiencing so I could connect with myself and find the best path forward for me again and again.
As a second career therapist, I’ve been on the path of the kind of burnout, stress, and questioning that is so common in our MT clients. It’s been a journey, but now, I’m thrilled to be here to support others looking to become their most fulfilled and insightful selves. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety or stress in relationships or at work, going through a period of adjustment or transition, or confronting grief or loss that so often accompanies times of change, this is a space to show up as you are and open to the opportunities each challenge brings us.
So, what do you say? If you’re ready to take the leap, I’m absolutely ready for you. Together, we can explore how your past shapes your present and how your experiences thus far can help you create the future you want to see.
