Dr. Lisa Rasmussen

Psy.D.

I’ve been there; living in a world where success and achievement determined happiness. I played along, received a good education, and walked away wondering where that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was. My clients know they’re talking to someone who gets it, because I really do.

Playing a part can be exhausting. You’re trying your hardest to be the perfect spouse, parent, or colleague, and maybe on the surface it looks okay. But underneath, you feel like you’re crumbling. When you’re trying so hard to keep it all together, you sometimes lose sight of what your own needs really are. This can lead to a myriad of challenges. Whether it’s anxiety, sadness, relationship concerns, or just wanting more out of life, I’m here to help….not only to alleviate these symptoms, but also to figure out their true cause. With my passion for couples’ work, I also really appreciate the trust my clients have in me to explore sincere questions around whether they should divorce or how they can improve communication and intimacy. I want people to know they are not alone. I want them to know that they are imperfectly perfect.

In the therapy room, I’m a broker of hope.

I see the strength in your struggle, the desire for self-care behind your anger, the longing for intimacy underneath your disconnect, and the beauty that is you behind that self-doubt. From my intention in the therapy room to the hours I spend looking for just the right gift to show someone in my life “I know you,” I’m the fist pumping emoji that you can always count on to remember how amazing you really are.

And because I can see it, I’m not thrown off by thoughts and behaviors that can make it difficult to feel truly loved and worthy.  So, are you ready to feel accepted and worthy? Together, we can create the path to your own unique pot of gold.
