Jess Bauer (She/Her)
ICF-Certified Life Coach
I've always been drawn to people who care deeply. You may dedicate a lot of your time and energy to how you show up in the world, trying to do things right and avoid letting others down. Sometimes that doesn’t leave room to care for yourself in the way you want to. I help coach individuals and couples to put all the pressure aside and come back home to themselves when life pulls you toward every direction but yourself.
My goal as your coach is to make sure that you can look back on your life one day and see all the moments where you trusted yourself and got to eat the fruit of your intentionality and self-advocacy for the things that matter to you. That starts with opening yourself to awareness of what lights your fire, what pulls you away from yourself, and what it means to become more present in your life on your terms.
When you’re overwhelmed or trying to find some sense of balance, it makes sense to want answers and a quick solution to feel better. You may notice you’re looking for more information online, skimming social media for tips, or listening to any podcast you can find. And sometimes, that can still leave you feeling unsure or unclear on how to make change sustainably (not perfectly, just sustainably).
That’s where having dedicated time with a coach to slow down long enough to hear yourself again, reconnect with your authenticity, and feel confident to make decisions that align with what matters to you can truly move you forward.
Moving into an uncharted season of life (think motherhood, new vocation, loss, new relationships, health challenges) may mean your capacity doesn’t look the same. At the same time, it’s common to keep a strong grip on the expectations you had for your energy and emotional bandwidth before. Even when you know things are different, you can still forget to stop and ask whether something inside of you changed too.
As a new mom, an eldest daughter, a wife, and someone who was humbled by a wave of burnout that led to a huge career pivot, I’ve felt the mix of emotions that come with change both in the mind and in the body. I’ve also seen how talking about identity in these moments can be that solid anchor you can trust will hold you steady through it all. So, if you’re ready to explore your own anchors, I’d love to be that person to walk right next to you, encourage you, and honor whatever it is that makes this life meaningful in your eyes.
Along the way, I'll draw from mindfulness-based stress reduction, positive psychology, attachment theory, somatic parts work, hormone health, and the mind-body connection. But more than anything, I believe that you already hold the wisdom for your own life. My role is simply to help you hear it more clearly.
